Shout out to the HCHS Student Lighthouse Team! They sold $1,891.04 in Tupperware. We will receive approximately $700 of that with 22 students participating. That's a pretty good amount considering the small size of our group!!

TODAY

Softball will meet in the weight room after school today and then go to the building from 4:00-4:45.

Good luck to the MS girls’ and boys’ basketball teams as they open their season versus Hillcrest tonight. The game order tonight will be 7th girls, 8th girls, and 8th boys beginning at 5 pm at the elementary gym.

THIS WEEK

RED RIBBON WEEK- Oct. 23-27

Students show your support of being drug free by participating in theme days for Red Ribbon Week:

Tuesday - “Use Your Head - Don’t Use Drugs” - Wear Crazy Hat or Hair

Wednesday - “Turn Your Back on Drugs” - Wear your clothes backwards

Thursday - “Plaid is Rad, Drugs are Bad” - Wear plaid

Friday - “My Future is Bright, Be Drug Free” - Wear college or career clothes

FBLA

FBLA pizzas will be delivered tomorrow, Tuesday. Make arrangements to pick up and deliver your pizzas before 4 p.m.

SENIORS
The FAFSA opened October 1st and you need to try and have it filled out ASAP because the state grant money will run out quickly – probably by the middle of November. We will have FAFSA workshops here at school October 26th from 12:00 - 6:00 by appointment with a representative from the MSU Financial Aid Office if you and your parent need assistance in filling out the FAFSA.

ACT PREP

The ACT Prep for those Jrs and Seniors taking the October ACT has been rescheduled for this Thursday from 9-2.

CHAMBER LEADERSHIP
There will be a Chamber Leadership Theme Day Field Trip on Thursday, October 26th. We will be gone from 8am-12:10pm. Leadership students, you will need to have your Think Sheet questions completed BEFORE you board the bus to leave that day.

STUDENT COUNCIL
Please return your shirt to Mrs. Stairs by the next club meeting on Friday, October 27. Thanks!

DRAMA CLUB
Dues of $10 will be due to Mrs. Heath by October 27.

Pennies for Patients

FCCLA is sponsoring Pennies for Patients again this year. Teachers received collection boxes last week and should begin collecting change from 4th period classes. The class who raises the most money will receive a pizza or doughnut party. The first collection day will be this Friday, October 27. The final collection day will be Friday, November 3.

ACT

The registration deadline for the December 9th ACT is Friday, November 3rd. Register online at www.act.org. The fee is $46. Juniors & seniors on free/reduced lunch are eligible for 2 fee waivers to pay the registration fee. Seniors - the December ACT is your last chance to raise your score for scholarship purposes at most 4 year colleges/universities. Sophomores & juniors - if you are wanting to take dual-credit courses next year and haven’t met the required scores, you might want to consider taking the December ACT.


JUNIORS
GSP applications are available in the guidance office and are due back in the guidance office by Monday, November 13th at 3:00 p.m.

YEARBOOK SALES
After today pay $48 in full anytime by Feb 1 to purchase your yearbook. Other payment options are available this year. Pay half down now and the other half by Feb 1, or pay $10 down now (non-refundable) and make monthly payments of $8 until paid in full by Feb 1. Seniors may add a name plate for an additional $5.00.

HELP F.C.A. FILL SAMARITAN’S PURSE “OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD BOXES
F.C.A. is working to fill “shoeboxes” for Samaritan’s Purse. There is a box located at Off. Carr’s desk, along with a list of needed items. Please help out those less fortunate this Christmas.
