Berea College created the Pinnacle Scholar Awards to recognize students in the region who demonstrate a strong potential to exert a positive influence on the future of Appalachia. Determining this year’s winners was particularly challenging due to the number and caliber of nominees. Jasmine was chosen out of hundreds of nominees from across nine different states.
