Hickman County Elementary placed second recently in the
Governor’s Cup District 4 competition at Symsonia Elementary School in Graves
County. HCES was led by the quick recall team, which placed first overall
by defeating the host, Symsonia, in the final two matches, while several
students scored well in various subjects. Individuals who placed for Hickman County include: James
Clark, third place, mathematics; Jared Terry, third place, science; James
Clark, fifth place, science; Cadence Byassee, third place, social studies;
Katie Abernathy, fourth place, social studies; Jared Terry, second place,
language arts; Willow Smith, fourth place, language arts; Jack Byassee, fifth
place, language arts; Eli Rudd, second place, arts and humanities; and Macy
Fuller, fifth place, arts and humanities.
