Students of the Month

Despite their not having been in the building for over a month, the recognition of Hickman County Elementary’s top students continues as  Principal Richard Todd recently placed signs in the yards of seven HCES Students of the Month for April.

Students honored this month include: Knox Boaz, kindergarten; Katana Willett, first grade; David Camp, second grade; Kennedy Sublett, third grade; Tyler Rogers, fourth grade; Katie Dowdy, fifth grade; and Macy Fuller, sixth grade.

Students are chosen monthly by the principal based on grades, attendance, behavior, citizenship, adherence to the Falcons Fly character traits, how the student interacts with his or her peers, and how the student interacts with HCES staff.   The Students of the Month signs are placed in the yards of the students and their families in the middle of each month, while the family is given a personalized letter written by Mr. Todd as to why their child was chosen.  Mr. Todd or other staff members then pick up the signs about a month later to place in the yards of the new students who are selected.
