COURSE 7020 COMPUTER & TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS

Prerequisite: Basic keyboarding skills

Students will use a computer and application software including word processing, presentation, database, spreadsheets, internet, and email to prepare elementary documents and reports. The impact of computers on society and ethical issues are presented.  Leadership development will be provided through FBLA.
 
 

COURSE 7030 ADVANCED COMPUTER & TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS

Prerequisite: Computer & Technology Applications

This course is designed to provide students an advanced-level experience with practical applications through hands-on instruction. Course content will include understanding of various hardware, software, operating systems, care/operations, administrative applications, and employability skills. The software includes advanced business applications using word processing, presentation, spreadsheets, database management, desktop publishing, and electronic communication. Upon completion of this course, a student will be ready to take the core level tests for MOS Certification and/or the Administrative Support Skill Standards Certificate. Leadership development will be provided through FBLA.

COURSE 7040 BUSINESS LAW

Prerequisite:  Junior or Senior

This course develops an understanding of legal rights and responsibilities in personal law and business law with applications applied to everyday roles as consumers, citizens, and workers. The student will have an understanding of the American legal system, courts/court procedures, criminal justice system, torts, and the civil justice system; oral and written contracts, sales contracts and warranties; consumer protection. Legal terminology is emphasized. Leadership development will be provided through FBLA.

COURSE BAS 120 - PERSONAL FINANCE (DUAL-CREDIT)

Prerequisite:  Junior or Senior

This course provides information needed to make intelligent choices and take effective action in the management of personal resources.  Topics include financial planning, buying, borrowing, saving, budgeting, investing, insurance, and taxes.
